조선 의장기_Merry Go Round

Horse on the Royal Flag, 23 x 23 cm, Color on Korean Paper

I saw this horse when I visited the National Palace Museum of Korea in Seoul.

This jolly horse was painted on one of the flags used for the national parade in Joseon Dynasty. All the animals on the flags were half-imaginary animals probably representing the troops of the army.

I especially liked this happy looking horse and painted on a small piece of dyed paper when I got back home.
